Lake Titicaca - Bolivia to Peru

On the way to Copacobana, Bolivia. You get out of the bus, catch a boat across whilst your bus does likewise. I didn't stay in Copacabana because I wanted to go to the main inca sites sooner on La Isla del Sol.

The inca site where Wiracocha, how they name source, created existence. I met a hippy who had a head band with a crystal face on it, with no shirt and 10 necklaces on the walk here. He encouraged me to go zzzzzzzzzzmmmmm, or ommmmmm, or zuizuizuizuizuizuizuizui here "Whatever comes to you". All that came to me was "hhhhmmmmm". He called it a star gate. I don't think he'll ever be in PR.  

They sacraficed llamas here. The hippy said he has slept under here before.

First to the floating islands, literally islands made from reeds that drop anchor.

The "totora" reeds from which they make their islands and boats.

She is demonstrating how they create an island. They lay stakes in shallow reed areas then join them.

Criss cross the reeds.

Add a house and you have tax free living!

You have maintain a reed section of the island every two weeks!!

These boats only last a year!!!! For all that work.

From here my tour went on to an island renowned for its weaving men.

I like water.

This plant is called muña. Pronounced munya. It is good for altitude and your respiratory tract. I smelled it and drank it.

This guy and I took photos of each other. Now you get to see a person you don't care about and his friends likewise.

Tiahuanaco

Hello, La Paz for me was boring, here is part of an archeological site an hour or so out of La Paz. The culture that created the site were pre-inca. Inside the museum (where you can't take photos) was a clay piece depicting an asiatic head, nothing like what the indigenous people look like. Google it if you want!!

This is not a cast piece of cement. It is a stone, smoothed by hand. Incredible.

The literal translation of this part of the temple means "Hehehehe". These guys must have been a crack up to build temples with. 

In his hands are symbols of both political and spiritual power.

I thought our guide was explaining either the original layout of the temple or an ancient form of hopscotch. When I jumped on it in a playful manner I found out it was the former. 

Here is where the creators of the television show "Wipeout" got an idea for one of their games. These heads moved in and out as the people would compete through a gauntlet of dangerous heads popping in and out, for the opportunity to have their heads immortalised in the game.

This is evidence that shows how they connected the stones together.

Sucre - A day out nearby

I forget the name of this place. It is about an hour outside of Sucre. When it is rainy season the river is big, but they have more plant life here because of the water that flows slowly at other times.
